    EBSC SPECIAL TIME 3:00pm-4:30pm

Indulge! The Delicious Chemistry of FatMatt Francis
East Bay Science Cafe participates in the Bay Area Science Festival by holding a special cafe!

Enjoy authentic Chilean cuisine at Cafe Valparaiso, in its fabulous new location on Solano Avenue, while UC Berkeley Professor of Chemistry (and avid cook) Dr. Matt Francis presents the science of ... fat!

Fats are essential ingredients in all cooking, providing flavors and textures that bring food to life. Come learn about the different types of fat, the roles they play in human health, and the many ways they can be used to enhance your cooking. The presentation will take place in the main room of this spacious and airy restaurant. There is no obligation to order food and drink, but attendees will not be disappointed by Valparaiso's authentic Chilean and Latin American cuisine.
